Deprivation music, silhouettes vs. video, and how to fake sophisticated interactivity.

On Ms. Howard’s argument piece idea, I mentioned Romy Achituv and Camille Utterback’s installation Text Rain for ideas of having silhouettes interact with video projections. I also used David Bithell’s The President Has His Photograph Taken to show that this interaction needn’t be high tech at all. While Utterback’s video is controlled/shaped live by viewer movement, the video in Bithell’s piece is just a static DVD with some clever hidden timing cues and some careful practice
